TEMPUS fugit

TEMPUS FUGIT reflects the fleeting and fragile nature of time through a fibre art installation crafted from textiles and mixed media. Inspired by the Latin phrase "time flies," the piece explores the interplay between time, human existence, and the natural world. Layers and textures mirror life’s complexity, with each strand symbolizing interconnected moments. The installation invites viewers to pause, reflect on impermanence, and live with awareness amidst global challenges like climate change and social unrest. Drawing from Abstract Expressionism and cultural heritage, TEMPUS FUGIT is a testament to resilience and the enduring connections that bind humanity together.

This light fibre sculpture, part of the tree-form series, embodies a fragmented tree opening like a mantle, inviting the viewer into its embrace. A metaphor for becoming a tree, it symbolizes rooting, growth, and unity with the landscape. The glowing fibres blur the line between self and nature, offering a space for reflection on resilience and interconnectedness.
